Hello all,

Client bought in a j tagged Zephyr the other day that was modded by someone else, he is wanting to update to free boot but the last modder did not backup his original nand so he doesn't have a orig.bin.

Im attempting to update him to freeboot but im having alot of trouble.

Ive re-dumped his nand off using flash360 and gotten the file flashdmp.bin

Ive gotten his CPU key off ok.

Ive attemped to use freeboot toolbox 2.4 R3 to build the image but it just errors with the error...

RESOURCE ZEPHYR_4558 not found.

Ive attempted to rebuild the nand manually using a donor zephyr and patching in the kv and config with nandpro, I also used 360 flash tool to enter in the CPU key, everything shows up correctly showing DVD key, console ID etc....I then use FB toolbox again but this time I get the error......

FreeBOOT could not be created correctly :/

Ive also tried to use a program called Easy XBR to Freeboot but there does not seem to be an option for Zephyr at all so I could not use this I was tempted to try and use the falcon image but I'm not sure if this would be safe.

I have uploaded to filebeam so others can have a go, cpu key is with it don't try to use it with LIVE it was banned long ago in the first banwave.

You need to find out what kind of Zephyr it is first. Chances are it's 4558 or 4552, but if it's a 4580, then you need to use the Falcon 5770 version of freeBOOT/XBR. Use this guide to manually build the image. You don't need your orig.bin, but you will need to get some donor Zephyr files, which are somewhere in that thread too.

You can do this as I've recently had to do it for a couple of box's, basically forget using freeboot toolbox 2.4 R3 it doesn't work for Zephyr's.

Follow that guide first of all https://docs.google....mv5h_30dw33vpf4 to get a nand dump and your kv etc. Also make sure you update the wiring to use AUD_CLAMP if you already haven't as that really helps.

Then you need to manually build your freeboot image using the new smc.bin you got using the above command (you will also need the zephyr donor files).

If you are unsure on how to do that look at http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=712076 as the guide for manually building freeboot is suitable.

ive followed the guide upto this step....

12.) extract Donor_Files.zip on a different place

13.) In the Donor Folder, open the folder for your Motherboard (Falcon, Jasper, Xenon), i had to choose Jasper

but I downloaded the donor_files.zip there is no donor for zephyr so i cannot continue.

PS: Someone has informed me that this client probably swapped his KVs around to get unbanned from live and that's why I'm having this issue with freeboot toolbox.

There is a link in one of the threads for the Zephyr donor files however I've mirrored them Here.

And I cant say the guy has swapped his files around because that's not while its failing. Freeboot toolbox just doesn't work properly for Zephyr's I've done about 10 Zephyr's all from original stock nands and Freeboot Toolbox has never worked once, any motherboard type its fine with.

Hello. I am in a similar situation and I have tried what seems like everything with no luck. Here's the story:

My buddy came to me with his xbox that he tried to update to dash launch 2.X using the installer. He has a Zephyr console with cb 4580. It WAS working, but while doing the dash launch install, it asked him if he "wanted to install freeboot patches". He did this, but then after a reboot, the xbox didn't work. Of course he doesn't have the original nand or any backup of his most recent nand. He has come to me with only his kv and the cpu key saying "fix it". I don't have the time tbh and I was wondering if someone could build me a nand file to flash to his box and get it working.

Again, all I have is the kv.bin file and the cpu key. If someone could pm me or something that would be great. I'll try and build my own nand tonight using the methods above, but again, I don't have a bunch of time to do this. I have already tried to build a nand image with the donor files but it came back E79 or E71.

TL/DR: Could someone pm me with a pre-built, ready to flash, nand file for a Zephyr 360 w/ a 4580 cb, using the AUD smc. I can pm the kv.bin file and the cpu key. Also, feel free to use the kv to go online (his fault for screwing up, plus he doesn't go online)
