Jtag Diodes On Original Xbox Power Supply?
« on: June 26, 2010, 07:52:00 PM »

Ive found that there are quit a few Diodes on the Xbox Originals Mo-Bo, anyone know if these can be used for JTAGing?

I dont think the ones under the board can be as they have no legs but there's a few on the top that do.

The JTAG diodes aren't standard diodes - they're Schottky diodes, also known as fast switching diodes. You'd need to work out which (if any) of the diodes in your picture are Schottky diodes. I'm sure that if a standard diode was suitable the JTAG hack would have used them instead.

However, if your Xbox isn't a Xenon, you might want to use the newer transistor wiring instead (tutorial here, picture here).

just go to radioshack and buy some man... then you also dont have to deal with them being SMDs.

I have jtaged three xboxes with diodes i got from old pc psu's and an old tv without any problems. Diodes are cheap but there is no place nearby that sells them and it feels stupid ordering diodes for a few cents and pay ~10€ for postage.
