Need Advice Changing Region On Bb Jasper With Bad Blocks

Bump anyone?

Would those bad blocks have caused the region information to have been re-mapped, or is that stored outside of those areas? If so, can I just patch the region bytes directly on the 360, without having to take the risk of flashing the whole 8MB? Or am I worrying unnecessarily, and will flashing the patched updflash.bin with Flash360 be fine?
