I got all the way to the end with this guide but after flashing and restarting I got e72.  I have a Xenon CB 1921 and here is a thread with some more information of my problem http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=720752.

Just tried the more manual method and I got e71 error this time.  It starts to boot up just fine and then before the boot screen finishes it flashes to e71 error.

Thank you so much! After pulling my hair out for days your guide helped me to finally update my 512 Jasper to 9199. Much appreciated.

I hope you'll do another guide when the next update for Kinect and a companion version of freeBOOT are released. I can follow instructions, but I have no idea what the hell is going on, heh.

I am trying this on a Xenon, my orig nand file says 1903, but keeps coming up as corrupted even though I used this file and successfully jtag'd with XBR. I have now followed this tutorial through with a copy of my xbr nand file (1921), everything went through fine until I create the actual nand file to put on my Xbox, I get the following error when running this command

C:\freeboot>ibuild c freeBOOT -c xenon -d data\ -p "CPU key"
DA6 -b "1b key" bin\image.bin bin\fuses.bin
ibuild 0.05 - coded by ikari

ERROR: File "data\cb_1940.bin" could not be opened.
ERROR: I/O error.

I did use my CPU key and 1B key just changed them back to the generic for this forum I also did them with and without quotes. ""

The file cb_1940.bin isnt present in the folders, I also put the $System_update in the Data folder as the folder and also just the files nothing gets me around this, am I missing a step to get this file?

Any help would be appreciated.

Fixed my issue, I used Easy XBR to Freeboot which did every step for me that I did with Freeboot and I also noticed they had alot more files in the 9199 update that I got from the systemupdate file at M$.

If anyone else uses Easy XBR to Freeboot I did notice when I browsed for the nand file it kept giving me some error and crashed out the program, if you just copy the nand bin file to the easy xbr to freeboot\Data Folder then just click the steps 1 by 1 and it works.

Thanks for the tutorial. Updated an XBR3 Falcon with no problems.

I was a little weary about applying the 9199 update from MS however, what's in this update exactly?

When I do this command (with the correct information filled in of course):

ibuild.exe c freeBOOT -c [console] -d data\ -p [cpu key]
-b [1bl key] bin\image.bin bin\fuses.bin

the cmd prompt comes back with an error stating, "Too many arguments passed"

How do I get around this?
