i get e79 after about 3-4 reboots.

i didn't do any of the patches though. could that be the reason why?

console is a xenon.

Well the default patch in the bin folder is the xb1 patch I believe so I don't think the patches would explain your random e79

They have no bad blocks. When i flash XBR, it works fine.

what did you use to flash it? what smc did you use? i have a xenon 6xxx and i have no e79 probs what dash is your original nand?

I used xellous to flash. SMC was from the original nand. The original nand is PRENXE.

i looked at it, its for the newer boards.

Its not random E79. I reflash and it works again. But after a couple of reboots it will e79 forever until i reflash again.

Can you try starting over and building a new image? Also, if you have the means please reflash your original and update to 7371 (put R6T3 back if it's gone), then start over with that fresh 7371 dump.

Also try removing hard drive and booting when you start getting constant E79. If that doesn't work, contact me on IRC, I want to try to get additional info from your error.

You need to extract smc from an xbr image for your board, use flash tool to extract the smc from an xbr image for you board then rename smc_dec.bin to smc.bin then remake your freeboot image with it then reflash and you should be good to go.

This is a fixed set of patches for freeBOOT 0.031. It addresses profile corruption and Xbox 1 emulator compatibility. Unfortunately, you will need to choose between the functionality of the memory protection patch and the ability for full compatibility with Xbox originals, you cannot have both. Two sets of patches have been included, you may use the ones that fit you best. Profile corruption has been fixed completely, but understand that if you have anything previously signed by a banned keyvault, the container will be console locked to it (corrupted). There are a number of free tools to fix those profiles, but you should notice that the console is no longer rejecting containers from everything but itself. Possibly these patches can fix E79 issues (dashlaunch changes), but since we have not experienced any similar issues, it's hard to test.

To those experiencing frequent or sporadic E79 issues (specifically on Zephyrs), it has been reported that using this alternate wiring with voltage regulation may solve the issue:
<a href="http://XS Filter - 110506 - 1/new-wiring" target="_blank">http://XS Filter - 110506 - 1/new-wiring</a>

I still dont know what "memory protection patch" do...
i have a cygnos360 v2 rev-d so i could always use both...
but for a single nand system it would be nice to know!
