Jtag And Title Updates
« on: February 02, 2020, 08:04:00 PM »

Hello I copied title update 3 for Borderlands to my cache folder on my xbox hard drive.  When I launch the game  everything seems fine but I cannot use any expansion packs.  I am sure this is because the title update did not install properly. I exited out of the game and go to my cache folder and the title update is gone!!

So can anyone tell me why the title update for borderlands disappears everytime I put it in cache and launch the game?

Thanks!

I tried manually patching my default.xex instead and I get this:

Error patching default.xex with default.xexp

Does anyone else have this issue. I've never seen a game just completely wipe out my cache everytime. I've tried everything I can think of. Instead of cache is there anyone out there who has patched the updates to the game's default.xex? I have even tried booting just from my original DVD game and it still wipes out the title updates?!?!?!? GRRRRR.

I just looked in my "working" xbox cache folder and there are no files starting with TU. But borderlands is working with the expansion back on that xbox.  The files all start with TK, GT, TT, etc. I don't get this.  I thought TU stands for title update which is what the file starts with that I'm trying to copy to my jtagged xbox to get borderlands updated.  I don't get what is wrong here.

Ok, nevermind there are TU files in there as well. But still doesnt explain why its not working on my JTAG xbox!?!!?

Ok I got it working now. The Title Update file I had must have been corrupt. I copied it directly from my working xbox to my "broken" xbox this time. Everything is now working perfectly. Thanks for everyones help.

The console seems to delete files in the title update folder it don't know what to do with. I once tried to just rename the TU for MW2. A pain when people have different TU's when hosting MW2 games on Xlink Kai.

Two points:

- The fact that the OP provided his own solution IS helpful.  Documenting the symptoms of a corrupt TU is useful.

- It's poor form and takes a lot of nerve for you to revive a six-month old thread just to complain.
