Quite a few sellers saying they have microsoft refurbished units that are jtag ready! Obviously they won't work if they were refurbished by microsoft!

No not "Obviously", if they were refurbished some time ago they wont have the new bootloader so you can actually jtag them.

That's what I'm saying. They are old kernel consoles that were refurbished recently. That would not make them tagable. Example for an add. 7371 kernel recently refurbished by microsoft. Guaranteed jtagable.. That's what I was getting at.

Im kicking myself at because I had about 5 MS refurbs that came to me april may time and I sold them all about a week before The Jtag hack came out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)
