Help With Elite Purchase
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:59:00 PM »

Sorry for the somewhat pointless question...
Before I shell out 300+ on this thing has anybody gotten one of these (0926) with a manufacture date before June-xx-2009? I've read before the 18th and "dvd drive list.com" or whatever shows this lot as after the 21st (out of 6 results). So just checking... I'll probably buy it tomorrow and check the date and return it if it is unsuitable.

Also anybody know about these "2009" consoles places like microcenter are selling?

Well if you looked it up on 360drives.com or whatever and the general consensus is that the manufacturing date is after 18th then that's the best you can go with.

Best way to check is just the manufactured date, second best being dash version, then 100% is to dump the nand and check the CB.

Some people have actually had luck with consoles manufactured in november 09 for example. How this happened is beyond me but once again the only 100% way to know is the CB.

Yeah figured as much thanks.
Cracking open an Elite and not being able to return it is really not an option...
I guess I was just looking for some random person to be like "hey I bought a 0926 and it was exploitable!!".
But it looks like I'll be spending the 300+ on an Arcade on here.

I finally got the guy to bring it out of the case it was 07-03-2009.
Thanks for the help.
Can anyone point me to a post from the lucky few that got those november 09 exploitables??

Im pretty sure ones with november dates (or dates after the usual june 18th cutoff) that are exploitable are coming back from M$ repair centers, not NIB xboxes. I got a couple back in december from repair that were still exploitable. I could be wrong but the odds are much higher on a repaired box than a newly manufactured one.
