Weird Jtag Issue - Sometimes Boots?
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:48:00 PM »

**EDIT**

I realized I accidentally saved a gamer picture pack to the internal memory card (it's a 512MB Arcade system), which I've read screws up the flash. Would I just reflash XBR and be good to go? I've left my 360 running as I'm concerned about turning it off at this point.

Hey everyone,

I've got a JTAG'd Jasper console with XBR3 which has been working perfectly fine for about a week now. However, out of nowhere, the console will only boot about 10% of the time. Nothing has been changed, aside from adding a few games and themes.

Here's what happens:

Console powers on but doesnt fully boot. The green power symbol on the ROL is lit, but nothing else happens. No errors, no 3 red lights, nothing. Just a black screen. If a wire were loose on a JTAG connection point, could it cause this, or would there be an error (such as E79)? When the console does finally boot, everything works perfectly as it should.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Thanks!

a loose jtag wire can can cause this. First use Flash360 and reflash an untouched image of XBR3. Rename XBR to updflash.bin and place in the flash360 folder on the 360 hdd or in the root of a usb drive. When asked to keep current keyvault and config choose YES! If that doesnt fix your problem, redo the jtag wires.

I had the same problem, and a reflash fixed it (fyi).
