I tried flashing xellous via lpt but it did not work, so renamed to updflash.bin and installed via xell quickly and easily. (Made sure xell had KV already embedded)

xellous is xell, except that it has full flashing capabilities and other features. Xellous looks just like XELL. If you were able flash the full nand from usb then XELLOUS was installed correctly.

Dumping Config

To dump your Config from nand:
Nandpro lpt: -r16 rawconfig.bin 2de 2
Dump this a couple times and compare them.

Isn't config 3de 2 ??

Hi, thanks for info so far but I have hit a problem.
I just cant ftp to my 360 from the laptop.
The 360 is physically plugged into my dg834 router and my laptop connected by wireless.

My XBox boots to Xell, it doesn;t get anywhere with it's ten attemts at booting TFTS Server and then it reports: try booting from CD ROM,etc.

I do get a http://192.168.0.13 / 255.255.255.0 at the bottom of the log though.

No matter how many times I have tried to log on by potting the 192.168.0.13 in the address bar of my pc the xbox just keeps reporting: "closing connection" everytime I press enter.

Can anyone suggest a fix please, thanks.

What browser are you using, this should be done with firefox. There is not ftping involved in the tutorial... so I am not sure exactly what you're refering to. Does it show your cpu and dvd key at the bottom just above the HTTPD? Do you have any firewalls enable that might be causing interruptions? Don't worry about  TFTS Server and then it reports, where not using those features of XELL/XeLLous.

Hi, yes I have my CPU and DVD key shown just above the HTTPD stuff.
I am stuck at this part:

Note the address of the HTTPD.

Leave XBOX on and go to your computer.

Using firefox open the httpd address. Please use firefox, IE causes issues as stated in the release notes of XELLOUS.

If done correctly you should screen like this one.

My XBox is plugged into my home network router. I open Firefox on my laptop and try the httpd address the xbox shows: http://192.168.0.13 and then nothing. The page isn't found on the laptop!
Everytime I try witht the command on the computer I get the XBox typing a line in Xell saying: "closing connection".
Thanks again for your reply.

It sounds like you may be connected to a different wireless network.  This happens to me from time to time.  Check your netwrk settings and make sure your attached to your own network.

The console that Looouky based this tutorial on was my Zephyr, so it should work for you.  Looouky did a great job  biggrin.gif   Maybe post exactly the problem you are having and I am sure he can help you out.

no, I am definately on the right network because the xbox responds by putting up the "Closing connection" message everytime I press enter to enter the http address in Firefox.
I have checked though and as above my network connection is the correct wireless one.

When I was first testing I was getting an e79, I can not remember what the issue.

It could be this though because these were my errors at first:

1) you forgot the jumper wire on the jtag.... the one that connect those two points together without the diode

2)you did not flash your cpu key and are using the wrong version of XELL to start off, you need the free60 version the file which is about 1.3 mb.

3)try injecting kv.bin into zephyr_hack_updxell.bin  and then flashing zephyr_hack_updxell.bin <---- by the way this is the name of free60 version for zephyr are you sure you are a zephyr??

4)make sure you trying to boot into xell the different methods available i.e. eject button, and back usb port.

5) LOL this one got me real bad... you need to have a dvd drive connected, at least the power cable, the sata really doesn't matter.

Be patient everyone runs into a little trouble, look my long list of things I hit when doing a Zephyr for the first time.

Double check your XBOX is explotiable using the following chart, and your version too.

IPB Image

Just read some of your post it seems you've been having this issue for sometime now. May ask what happens when your try to read the full 16mb since your board is a Zephyr it only takes 35 min. Do you get any read errors what's so ever, when you open your dump do you see the words Microsoft at the very top?

I would try going wired for now then, if that still does not work, I would ask Redline, since he is the developer of XELLOUS what the issue might be at XBOXHACKER.net. I would also try disconnecting all other devices and just having the laptop and xbox connected to the router. You could also try using a cross over cable, and setting your laptop ip statically to something like:

192.168.1.100, since the xbox should go to 192.168.1.99.
