AFAIK if you've soldered up the LPT & JTAG then it won't boot without being flashed.

if its just the LPT you've soldered it must be something else.

If LPT is hooked up it wont boot. If the jtag fell off I'm pretty sure it wont boot, if power is shorted to ground it wont boot, flip your board upside down and blow air at it to make sure there's no solder or wire particles on it.

One of my 360s has xclamp replacement bolts and if the bolts are too tight it wont boot.

A bad flash has happened for me and it didn't boot.

A usb port's pins could be bent to uselessness, shorting power to the ground, causing that too.

To clear up confusion, the 360 will boot if the LPT cables are soldered on but not connected to a powered-on PC.  I have not tried powering on while connected to a powered-on PC but I can tell you it probably isn't a good idea.

It is the JTAG wiring which will prevent a stock 360 from booting.
I soldered both the JTAG and LPT wires so I'm going to try dump my NAND tonight.
Thanks
