i managed to get it to show my winXP drives... and browse round them... but it seems to crash before i get anywhere near where  my mp3s are held!

i think we might have to wait till the next release to actually get fully working samba support.  :(

This is the first time they have ever offered anything like this.  I am really impressed they have working as well as they do.  This is basically SMB support alpha 1 ;)

I did manage to get it to work.  I was able to play a few songs over it but It crashes really easy.

It also crashes on me while browsing my dvd-rom drive... I installed a modified version of 2.2, that was posted at the usual place, and it works better, but still not stable enough... All in all, this app is coming along!

I am also using the modified version.  Maybe thats why I had a little more luck with some of the options than some people did.

I have not tried the CD/DVD media support yet.  I may have to give it a shot.

I apologize if I'm confused, but Samba support allows you to browse a shared windows folder without running relax, etc, right?

Well, if that's correct, maybe you guys can help me with the shared syntax then.

It says:

So if you are using Windows XP and are sharing a folder called MP3 with no login password required in a computer called abc in workgroup 123, would it be:

smb://anonymous:anonymous@123/abc/share/mp3

Thanks

i was able to have greater file compatibility with samba, but at the sacrifice of speed. i am still using my Relax just cuz it's fast and a lot easier to add new directories. network play IS much better though.
