Are the commands the same as 16MB NAND Version? Of course replace 16 with 256/512?

Thanks

rename XBR_JasperBB_8955_3.bin to xbr.bin

For 256 meg nand: (256nand.bin is your nand that has already been extracted)

nandpro 256nand.bin: -r256 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro 256nand.bin: -r256 rawconfig.bin EF7 2

#INSERT INTO XBR
nandpro xbr.bin: -w256 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro xbr.bin: -w256 rawconfig.bin EF7 2

#WRITE TO NAND ON 360
nandpro lpt: -w256 xbr.bin

replace 256 with 512 for 512 meg nands

almost, config address changes  for the 256/512 Nands the commands are following

Corrected

* How To:

1) Extract KV and Config blocks from orig.bin
nandpro orig.bin: -r256/512 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro orig.bin: -r256/512 rawconfig.bin EF7 2

2) Inject those blocks into XBR.bin
nandpro XBR.bin: -w256/512 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro XBR.bin: -w256/512 rawconfig.bin EF7 2

3) Flash result
nandpro lpt: -w256/512 XBR.bin 0

nandpro xbr.bin: -w512 rkv.bin 1 1
nandpro xbr.bin: -w512 cfg.bin EF7 2

FLASHING

i thought it was EF7 2 for BB not 3DE 2, oh well...  Im trying ef7 2 for config, flashing now at 4:39pm will report back results

when i flashed xbr_1_fixed i didnt flash the config.bin anyway and it worked this time i am so i dont seee what the config.bin does... anyone know this answer"?

config supposedly contains mac address and fan speed values and who knows what else..

My config extracted out of my original NAND contained a bunch of data

I wish there was a tool to do big block flash available under gentoo and xell currently.

Thanks to whomever did this for us!!

Not sure this is from Team XBR though is it? No NFO or any formal announcement. They don't even make reference to big block support in their last release do they?

* What went wrong?
Earlier versions of XBR used the same CB/CD pair to start the 8955 kernel as the exploit. Freeboot, using a dual nand setup, used the older bootloaders to start the exploit, than used the newer bootloaders on the alternate flash to start the kernel.

The problems were not related to the patches used by XBR, but rather the use of the older bootloaders. Please try to control yourselves if problems arise, they can always be fixed. Dont do anything crazy like start conspiracy theories, buy a cygnos, wire up a dual nand or xd card, rip out a big nand to swap in a smaller one etc, etc. Have a little patience, have a little faith tongue.gif

at the end they mention to not rip out our big nand's to swap for smaller ones and to have a little patience so i think that says they were working on it for us too...

welll then i guess it is important! wink.gif

is erasing necessary?
i know it's preferable, but just cause i didn't

and if it's necessary i'll stop the flash, erase, then restart.

if it's preferable, i'll wait t'ill it's done smile.gif

I did a compare with version 1 and only the first 3 chunks seems to have been changed. ( I split the .bin in 64 parts). I will try to only write those!

Working!!! For those who already have xbr1, you can just add the kv and the config to the xbr3 and flash the first 3Mb only. Took less than 15min flashing and verifying.

I shorted the NAND to erase and flash again... but`s pretty risk.

Kharoof, so there is no way to do this without LPT yet?

Or those commands are not for lflash.c?

Sorry for my noob questions.

Just flashed and it works.

Only thing: xbr changed language to english, and format to 4:3

I did this with config from ef7 2blocks.
Are language and video-format not stored in there ?
I used the cfg from my old xbr image, maybe i injected that wrong ?
