Since when did microsoft start patching CB? I want to buy an xbox 360 with kernel 7371, but it's been already repaired once by microsoft. If it's been sent before june will it work?
It's probably an opus, what image should I use, falcon?
Edit: It's been sent in may 2009

I assume you don't know much about *nix. When you boot Gentoo, you are logged in as a generic standard user. To execute action which have an impact on the whole system, you need to be root (read Administrator).
Like the guide suggests, as soon as Gentoo starts, type
CODE
sudo passwd

to set a password for the root user; when done type:
CODE
su

to "switch" from the generic user to the root user and proceed with the required activities.

Or, easily: sudo su

I flashed my xenon with 8955_3 but its acting all jacked up. It freezes when trying to load gamertag from hdd and mu. It also freezes when I go to system settings when I scroll down to locale. Anyone else run ito this problem?

did you use the badblock mover?  I found badblocks tend to cause freezes and issues.

Yeah I didn't even think about that. I guess thats what I get for being lazy this time lol. TYVM

I am at the usual places but I do not see XBReboot anywere. I am inside the "dashboards" folder. Inside that folder is only "360 Menue", "Viper360", "Xexloader", and "Xmenu"........ I feel like it is right in my face......

Got 8955_3 to work now it was just a loose connection in my jtag wiring, my lpt wiring was fine tho so nand was flashed correctly all along, so if anyone cant get rid of e79 try checking your jtag wires  laugh.gif

I admit that I had to just walk away yesterday and go for a bike ride... was ready to get out the sledgehammer.

Spent hours double and triple checking everything. Took 4 NAND dumps, 1st one had errors, re-checked the cable, next 3 matched perfectly. Checked for bad blocks - none.

Flashed XBR, then read and verified the flash, all good... booted into Xell - yay! Took a photo, grabbed CPU key and all appears right with the world.

Put 360 back to together - E79. Take it apart - starts working again. Leave it for a minute, stops working. Please kill me.

I can only assume one of my JTAG wires is grounding somewhere or came loose during assembly. So frustrating!
