Why dont you just reflash the nand back through lpt? and save the trouble. Most only use gentoo with lflash to read the 256mb/512mb nands (to save alot of time). The modified lflash cannot flash the big nands. The normal version can flash small nands but it is all experimental. Gentoo and lflash is only used if you pulled out the lpt wiring. Did you?

If you did not: Just do this simple command in nandpro:
nandpro lpt: -w16 xbr.bin

You did: No other real ideas. Try leaving the wired controller there, Gentoo can boot without a storage device.

I still have the lpt connected but 1 of the wires thats is connected to the motherboard keeps popping off and won't stick. I have tried all sorts of things to get it to boot in to gentoo including keeping the controller in, I guess i will just have to get that wire to stick some how.

my gentoo took >5mins to boot, just try leaving it and see what it does.
Your nand corruption has nothing with this (xell boots).
Dvd drive failing?
Try copying the gentoo files (extract iso) to the external hdd then boot xell.
A new xbreboot is released, flash that if you are successful with that wire.

It would have been enough to just put the Hitachi to ModeB. For those how aint got a separate dvd drive.

For those wondering, start 360 and put gentoo in tray and leave open. take power cord out to cut juice, plug back in and star xell with method of choice. (media center button on media remote for me.)
