is it worth removing the rt63 resistor while i've got the box in bits ? I know this release emulates the fuses - but is there  a chance a game will update the system ?

also how will dash upgrades be done in future if I remove the lpt wiring ?

Hi guys sorry thsi is slightly off topic but I orignally thought I had bought a 256 jasper, but I just opened the box and out came a 256mb memory card.  How can I tell if this is a 16mb Jasper, because I have also heard they shipped some jaspers with the 14a power supplies just to throw people off.

look at the power sticker on the back of the console for 12.1A.
If it's a Jasper it will be 12.1A Falcon 14.2A and Zephyr 16.5A.
Or look at this power connector itself on the 360 and compare to this picture.

ok so if it has the power connector of a falcon it is forsure a falcon than, because I heard they switched the power supplies sometimes, but the connector is attached to the mobo so I guess I have a falcon.  Too bad for one I wasted so much time reading about big block jaspers (stupid) and two now I wish I had a jasper to better protect me against rrod.  SUCKS!

The process for Jasper is pretty much the same as the process for falcon.
With the exception of the cfg.bin data being in a different location.

If you need the commands for falcon in a step by step process PM me and I will send you the process and commands for it.

Falcon's aren't a bad machine and the smaller nand makes the process quicker.

And yes if the power connector matches that of a Falcon/Opus connector above than it's a Falcon.

Does anyone know is there any advantage to soldering the 1 jtag wire to the bottom of the board over the ring of light board spot ?

You are better off soldering to the underside of the board. Otherwise, how would you be able to remove ther rf board without desoldering it first? A pain in the ass if you ever want to take the mainboard out.

Question. How does this version of xbr perform? The other one is buggy and freezes now and again.

I hope they are working on an update for the 16mb version.

To any1 looking for a Jasper,

Divineo has some in stock, I just bought 2 arcade models last week and they're dated Nov 2008(asked them b4 purchase), and when I received them I verified the date and it matches

damnit....just checked my recently bought Elite and its a 07-07-09 date, and my other recently banned console is of course on the newest dash version - so guess I'm stuffed sad.gif

Hope its not too long til they find a way to bypass the security of the newer dashboard so we can all get a piece.

On the upside though I do have an older console that was banned about 2 or 3 waves back...it's on NXE but hasn't been used in about 10months or so so defo doesnt have the more recent updates.

Can I ask.....is the whole process of rewriting the nands etc the same methods as used to unban the consoles? (If of course could get hold of a nonbanned unique id or whatever that is)

Since XBReboot rewrites the Nand, it should mark your xbox as unbanned.  You still can't go on xbox live with it.

Are all pro console jaspers 16mb?

All Jasper Pro's and Elite's have 16MB Nands.

eh.. will it ever be possible to hack this 360 i bought that has manufacture date of october 26 2009 ?

Not at the present time.  Maybe something eventually, but most likely never.

I feel the same way, I bought an Arcade unit July 24, 2009 which cannot be hacked.

I was lucky and I bought a broken 360 with a missing DVD drive and heatsinks for $20.  It had not been updated in quite some time so I was able to repair it.  I just bought a replacement DVD drive and a had some spare heatsinks lying around.  Since it was still hackable I used Xell to obtain the CPU-key and used that to obtain the DVD-Key.  It was a little work but I am now the proud owner of a Hombrewized 360.

I am in the process of trying to acquire broken 360's that boot to the dash, have the pre-8000 dash and only require minor repairs to get them operational.  If you are in the US and are interested please PM me as I am having the seller go through his entire lot of 360's to find hackable ones.  I don't know what motherboard revision they will have and I myself are not picky as trying to find un-updated 360's is hard enough as it is.
