one big reason as of right now: that chip does not work with the big block jaspers, only the 16mb flavour of jaspers

@FoxRacR17 - Yeah, that's a pretty big reason. Didn't realise that. I'd better look for a USB flasher then.

@yoss - I can see that the USB flasher would be the better choice if you've got multiple boxes to do. I've only got the one to do thankfully.

Also I wouldn't bet the current model cygnos will ever be compatible with big block...Please be aware though that all usb spi flashers are not equal.  The one i bought is not compatibl with big block jasper either.

Too bad its sold out right now, i wonder why  rolleyes.gif

i hope cygnos will bring a v3 of their chip with support for big nand, i heard freeboot doesnt crash or slowdown like xbr does.

Yeah but you still have to program that don't you, which is another $20.

I'm in the UK anyway, so by the time I've bought those two and added the shipping, it would cost quite a bit more than a Cygnos. Not that there's one I can use yet, but as you say hopefully they'll bring out a v3, which will probably be cheaper for me.
