3 Nand Dumps All With Loads Of Differances When Checked In Hex
« on: December 20, 2009, 01:30:00 PM »

ok so i picked up a falcon arcade model earlier, correct dash and exploitable
slder it up and dumped the nand 3 times
opened up in hex editor and ran compare feature all 3 have major sections that are differant,
my first dump had many -well 6 bad blocks in degraded, the second 2 dumps had 2 bad blocks both at the same addresses-with error 250 so i think this is ok

do the dumps have to match exactly all the way thru

any other suggestions please,im loosing the will to live now lol grr.gif

Just cut the cord going to your computer as short as possible, mine did that too,
after i shortened the cable, first dump had 2 bad blocks and the 2nd and 3rd were fine and a match

i dont think i can get it any shorter, its less than 6 inch as it is,1 thing that im unsure of-in this

it says you must join ground in both devices pc and lpt-now ive taken this to mean either j1d2.6 or j2b1.12 needs to be connected to pin 18 on the lpt-but with the errors im having im wondering if it means pin 18 and j1d2.6 or j2b1.12 need to be connected to a separate ground point each

Try and eliminate all sources of electrical interference around your xbox and the computer you're using for dumping.  I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the electrically noisy AC adapter on the laptop I was using.  When I dumped on AC power, I had 4000+ differences - on battery power, 3 identical dumps (first time).
