Everything Looks Good For Lpt Cable, But "could Not Detect A Flas

hmm. I do realize this soldering looks bad, but ive started to get less carefull after 15 hours of soldering haha! but I did test the connections and they test fine (mirrored on the back of the adapter) so it doesnt go straight back pin to pin, it does mirror to the other side which should be correct? or do I need to mirror the points I soldered?!

They're mirrored - if the cable goes through itself 1:1, then you're wires are going to the wrong pins - look at where they're soldered on the rearside of the plug - and then look at yours, they're in exactly the same place=mirrored for you. Switch 'em over and you'll be grand smile.gif

if this works... im going to be so happy.... here I go smile.gif gonna put back on resistors as well

just switched everything over and still not working. I.. Am going to kill something. grr.gif back to messing with the bios... ughhhhhhhhh.......

so heres a picture to ask for more clarification.. so the red line is what the connection goes to on the other side. It crosses over, it doesn't go straight down the adapter.

or did I have it right before sleeping.gif

Just wanted to let people know that I finally got it. All the mirroring and stuff confused me, not to mention the bios wasn't any help. I ended up changing to SPP and using the resistors by the way.

might be hard to tell the exact wires, but I think you can get the idea. Has to go all the way through, can't mirror on the other side like gender changers do. If it does, just flip it pop.gif

what BIOS settings is everyone finding to work? I have tried two older machines, an HP and a dell. both with LPT on the mobo. both error out with the same message.

thanks. this is my first dive into the 360 side of things. done many chips on the xbox1, so that part doesnt bother me. I removed the resistors when i found my LPT does around 3v, so i guess they are not needed. maybe 3ft of cat5 is what i got. short enough right?

also worth noting, and maybe this is my problem. I am running off an atx PSU with a decent adapter i got off amazon some years back...

when i am trying all this... so the fan runs when the PSU is plugged it. odd thing is, they spin down in speed when i am trying to dump from the LPT port. just for the few seconds its trying read from it. also , it spins down while i am rebooting the computer then goes back up when its on again.
