So what makes this update worth it?
Am I gonna be flashing the nand every other day for the next month?

That happened to me too... bloody annoying.  I tend to leave my browser open all the time and over time it will do that.

Clear out your browsers cookies and that should fix it worked for me!

Click the options box at the top right of the forum and change it to Standard view

shrekan, go to options > display mode (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) right on this page.. thats where you change the forum display settings

anyway that XBR for other models DOES NOT work for my Falcon.. get errorcode 0022

Had Xell installed. Flashed it per readme and it boots up without dvd drive attached. When I attach the DVD drive I get e64? I realize the e64 is a dvd flash error and have reflashed it with latest 1.61 and correct dvd key. The benq is spoofed from the original drive which was a samsung m28.

Any thoughts.

I hope sometime in the future it will be possible to update the dash through USB once flashed via JTAG kind of like how Xell is updateable via USB.

No you dont need your cpukey. but you do need a dash below 8XXXX because it relys on the jtag hack with got patched with that dash. But that your flashing your xbox you might aswell flash xell to it to get the cpukey it would only take 10mins more at the most for some added pice of mind.

XBR has xell built into it.

You can boot the box either through a wired controller in the back usb port, or with the remote to boot xell.

thanks i was pretty positive i could just figured i'd ask

There are 2 versions. a and b. a is responsible for giving the christmas lights error for most people. B works fine.

it seems the instructions are not written properly

all you need to do is restore your own nand's keyvault... not the configblock

then it will work.. booting into 8955 dashboard smile.gif

but don't use Falcon_8955_0... use _1 instead! its newer and better

I think the config block is just there for (mostly pal) users that are having troubles when they reflash, their video was giving some strange outputs, if not configured correctly.
