I had the same problem yesterday.

Use the diode for pin 11 on the LPT. Make sure the black ring is facing towards the motherboard of the xbox 360.

Put 100ohm resistors on the other pins as required.

As long as you do a good job soldering that error 0 should go away.

*EDIT* It does not matter which side of the wire they're on, just make sure the diode is facing with the black ring towards the xbox 360 motherboard.

Alright now every single block gives the Error: 0. Before every few would give me a 400 of E000 or something. Should I take the resistors off and leave the diode on?

Is it plugged into the power supply? (leave power off)

Yup, but does the dvd drive have to be in?

Took out the resistors and every block gives random errors

Alright now it keeps turning off after about 30 seconds after my computer starts, the C++ PortIO can recognize the drive (Returns a 0x4 value) but nandpro gives fatalities

you just need to plug in the AV and the power supply, it doesn't matter the dvd drive. the resistors are a suggestion and the diode is not always used, first try with out the diode but with resistors, you should also try diffrent config for the LPT port.

Hmmm I never had the AV plugged in, thats probably why it hated me. I'll try again next weekend when I get time again.

Alright I did it again with the AV and power supply plugged in and am getting fatal errors.

I still can get the C++ PortIO thing to read it for about 30 seconds after boot but Nandpro doesn't see it.

Edit: MAY have found the problem, some of my soldering this time around is just barely touching another contact point so I'm going to fix that.

Nope that wasn't it.

WOW!
Let me explain how i came to your post here...i had to erase my write to my nand ad when i went to do so it came back just like he said with a 4 and E0000 or something like of the similarity.  so i did as the advisor asked and placed my av cable in and what-do-ya know? it worked. im a little dumb-founded. why (walks away repeating himself)
