For libxenon to have been successful, a rebooter never should have see the light of day.

That's to say, I have yet to see proof that this method allows the dash to be modified. It's unseen that this method allows the dash to enter an unsigned state.

it must do as it runs the latest kernal with out the fuses blown
if it does then we wont need xbmc   will will just beable to add codecs to play all files
and ms have built the iso loader will will just need to disable the disc check

Can someone explain how this works for total n00bs? Especially how it overcomes the latest kernel patch from m$ which disabled the JTAG hack.

Thanks!

It executes the new dash/kernel without installing it - using a set of virtual fuses (fuses.bin) among other things (hence the ibuild app).

From what i understand the hack.bin that is loaded first contains Xell, which in turn tells the cygnosv2 to switch NANDs which boots the 8xxx kernal.

However alongside the Xell payload (in hack.bin) is the new freeBoot hack which involves something called virtual fuses.

To say the new dash boots without fuses being blown is (as far as i can tell) is correct, as the check is being performed against the virtual fuses as apposed to the physical fuses.

This isn't to say the new dash has been (can be) modified to boot without fuses, its just that the fuse check is virtual as apposed too physical.

Ah.. thx.

Is this exploit patchable?

And how difficult would it be to install a Cygnos dual NAND mod? As easy as the PS1 4 wires? Or 5 wire Wiikey? Or solder to the chip legs Wiikey? Or difficult like PS2 32 wires? (just for reference)

This sounds great!

But the Q is will it run unsigned code like a live cd? or is it limited to signed code only?

holy cow. Cygnos v2 is really cheap at divineo.com. It costs USS$65.00...  oh wait... dry.gif  dry.gif  dry.gif

after I heard about the news that my dash is still exploitable, I stopped logging on Live. Hopefully a solution like this will come soon for jasper mobos as well smile.gif

If it emulates the fuses, why not set the machine to devkit. Then use a dev kernel?

I'm not sure what all extra hardware is present on devkits, but maybe that's why. Also, the desire to run the new kernel via reboot is for XBL access - Devkit mode probably wouldn't be a good solution for that (unless you were just wanting devkit mode for non-XBL purposes).

I read through the directions and I'm not sure if I'm missing something or what.

Is Cygnos360 v2 needed, or can the original Cygnos360 be used?

Read the thread. This isnt meant for xbox live, and you have to have a non updated console so how will they block it? (Read people your questions are answered on the first post)
