Freeboot your box!

This is a _real_ way to reboot your hackable xbox360 into the latest kernel!

I. Introduction
================

Finally, here it is - freeBOOT, a rebooter for the Microsoft Xbox 360. This
version of freeBOOT allows you to reboot into kernel 2.0.8498 on a Xenon
or Falcon console, which can be exploited by the JTAG hack. Support for
Zephyr, Opus, and Jasper consoles will follow shortly.

As freeBOOT needs a second flash memory to store kernel 2.0.8498 and
associated data, a Cygnos360 is required at the moment.

Read through the following instructions carefully. Building your own images
is yet a complicated task involving many steps. Future versions of freeBOOT
will be easier to build.

The script looks legit, no virus, and looks genuine overall. I can't say if it is real or not until I try it. Can someone give me their 8459 dump so I can test this?

Also, a Cygnos360 is not mandatory, although it is recommended for you to have one.

Does freeboot actually have the ability to perform interception of which NAND to use via cygnos 360?
If it does, then I guess it would be a different story

Were you able to get the flash tool open? I keep getting a "Side-by-side" error. Can't say I've ever seen that one before.

I ran the files through VirusTotal, and thats what popped up, just trying to help people out. Hopefully its legit though. They only get flagged once though, so it could be a mistake or something.

yea it says mcafee's the only one that picked it up..... so im pretty sure its safe (mcafee sucks)

hey how do you get around the side by side error? it tried using other flashtool to extract but it freezes and hangs.

Anyone have a solution to the included flashtool side by side error?

You need to install the visual c++ 2008 runtime

Good work guys, I'll have to get a cygnos to try this out. Do you know if it will be possible to get this running from just the onboard nand?
