Arakon,

Thats exactly wot some one in irc thought aswell, he gave me an dowload link to the final release of it and i still couldnt get it to work from 2 different usb sticks mass storage devices blink.gif !!!!

No arakon, the dashboard in question i got is infact the final release.  I finaly managed to update my xbox yesterday to NXE, appearantly its not because i allowed my machine to update on first boot , or because i used a wrong dashboard release!!

My first impression about that new feature m$ implemented to install games to hard drive! !
In my modest opinion, i dont think the whole content from an game disc gets installed!!

After i installed a game and "CHOOSE" to play it from hard drive, i noticed the discs still is active and spins from time to time while i play the game ohmy.gif !!!
Also, the size of the game is only arround 6 Gigabyte !!  Shouldnt the size of 1 full backup to hard drive be arround 7 Gb !!!

the installs obviously don't need to install the random garbage data padding that is on the disks.
the game disk is checked twice: when you start a game, and when you quit it.

Hello arakon,

Firt of all i want to thank you for your thoughts about this matter.  The least i can do is to thank you now and then for the effort and time you are spending to inlighten me smile.gif

You have made an good point indeed about the garbage data probebly not beeing installed.

I have thought asmuch considering the different size and it indeed makes sense.

Now aim not sure if the disk gets checked only twice though arakon!!  You are indeed right when you say it checks only a few times when playing an full game from hard drive like Saints row 2 (just checked it).  But when installing an Arcade compilation, the disk seems to be more active while gaming !!  I noticed ,the drive makes more noise from time to time throughout the gameplay whereas whit the full install of saints row 2 there wosnt any disc spinning while gaming untill i eject the disk !!  That brings me to a couple of questions, is there something going on whit that garbage data from that arcade compilation disk ?!!
And more important, am i realy playing that arcade compilation from my hard drive alone?  Or does the dvd disk kicks in from time to time hence the drive activity all the time?

By my previous post, i meant the disk activity whit compilation disks may be caused due to different game loading on that disk !!

The checks may be verry well game deppending on top of the security checks from the disk itself!!
Just wild guessing here !
