Ind Bios & "back" + "white" Buttons Turn Off X
« on: December 11, 2005, 11:53:00 PM »

Not sure if it goes here, but it seems to happen w/ the IND bios (and not when i boot the regular xbox bios). Basically, after I launch ind, and it launches the dashboard (Can be any dashboard...avalaunch/evox), if I hold down the "white" button and then the "back" button, then the Xbox just turns off. Now, this wouldn't normally be a problem, but there are some programs (MAME-dOX for instance) that require me to hold down the two buttons to access the DIP switch settings for the games. So, my Xbox turns off instead. Very annoying. Anyone know if this is a BIOS issue or something else w/ my Xbox, and if it's the latter, anyone know how to fix it? I'm using Xenium SP.I.C.E. also as my chip. Thanks!

I've read about this kind of problem before with the iND bios, which is why I never used it. It is very easy to add a new bios with the Xenium OS. Why not use something else?

You can put a config file named ind-bios.cfg in the the root of the C:/ drive.I don't know what version you have but you should be able to disable the black+white combination from there

Use one of the newer versions of the bios.

That was a problem with one of the older versions. The combinations is supposed to be L + R + Back + White, but got f'd up to being only Back + White. It is fixed in newer version(s), though I think the newer version(s) are beta, so look for that in the usual places.
