besides going on live which im sure will take me to the newest kernel are there any games out there that will put me where i need to be? any help would be greatly appreciated

You need the HD-DVD update. You burn it to a disc and load it and it will update you to one of the 2 exploitable kernels (forget which though). The name of the package you need is "HD_DVD_10-2006.zip"

M$ took it off their website when they found out about the exploit, but it can be found in the wild. Their website also has instructions for burning it too.
