Yeah  so as the topic says, "What are the retail bios for my xbox?"
I go to the system information thing in the MS dash and i get this
K:1.00.4980.06
D:1.00.4920.01
So what exactly does those 2 sets of numbers mean? i was reading a kernal post or sumthing like that and it said to look for the kernal ###s at the system info and match them up with the correct bios. but i didnt see any 4980 or 4920 as kernals for any xbox version. Can any1 Help me out plz? IT WIL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

HAHA. THE K AND THE D NUMBERS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND THEY HAVE NO REVELANCE TO EACH OTHER. THE K MEANS THE KERNELS VERSION NUMBER IN THE BIOS IN THE XBOX. THE D IS THE DASHBOARDS VERSION NUMBER SO BASICALLY IT MEANS U HAVE A STOCK BIOS 4980 WITH NO LOGICAL BLOCK ADDRESS "LBA48" SUPPORT <

acctually i think ur wrong becuz i looked to see if there was any retail 4980 bios and theres not, so i guess these are the kernals for the modded bios. damnit anyways ive gotton retail bios from xbins and i flashed correctly and fliped the right dips and it still either frags or goes to EvoX. now ive heard that the M$ dash wont load if ur hdd is unlocked but mine does load so i know thats not the problem and  i dunno what to do i could use lot of help so any1 out there plz plz plz IM me AIM=AVBlueMan <

According to the xbox version detector i just ran on my xbox i have a version 1.1 which means i need either 4817 or 4972 bios. ive got the 4817_bfm bios from xbins and i was wondering if i could use these to flash, if not then can sum1 explain the process of making a boot disc? ive seen the tuts. but they are comfusing.
