Transfer Achivements?

I plan to get a modded xbox soon and I have a non modded now.

If I play "backup"games on my modded xbox will I be able to add the achivements to my non modded xbox? Will this ban me from xbox live?

BTW what other things can you do with the transfer kit? Could I transfer game addons to my non modded xbox this way?
