I have a Jtag console running xbr3, and I simply want to: use an external HDD via USB and load stuff in xexloader.

I went out and got a 2TB Hitachi 3.5" SATA internal HDD, and I also got an external HDD enclouser so I could use this with the xbox over USB.

I have formatted the drive to FAT32, and it shows up on my computer when connected to USB. When the drive is connected to my Xbox360, I cannot see the drive in the NXE System settings -> Memory; I can also not see the drive in XEXLoader (my 16gb fat32 USB Stick works fine).

How can I get this drive to work? Please help!

Make sure that when you format the hard drive make sure its PRIMARY not logical.

Did the same thing myself on my 1TB drive a while back.

ASH: Thanks for your suggestion, I checked the drive and it is formatted as primary partition (I didn't know that mattered). It still does not see the drive.

I have two identical external enclosures (http://hornettek.com...ducts/viper.php) and I tried using a different hard drive (maxtor 3.5" 500gb sata) in an identical enclouser, and the xbox doesn't recognize it either, in xexloader (it freezes for a little while like its synching, but it doesn't show up on the list for storage devices).

I checked the xell boot-up screen and this is what it says:

USB: New Device Connected to Bus 1 Hud 1 Port 5
USB: New Device Bus 1 Device 2: Vendor 045E Product 0291 Class FF: Not Found

So it is not reading the device for some reason, (one time it reported correctly in xell, as a hitachi 2tb drive, I dont know why though).

I am wondering if the external enclosuers Im using are not compatible (they were like 24$ ea.)- It is all I can think of.

Any other suggestions?

Ok so I just installed XeXmenu just to see if maybe that would work... and it sees the usb drive!

I wonder why XeXloader cannot see the drive... if I have to use xexmenu instead, so be it.

Throw a file inside the hdd from your computer. Then hook it up to the xbox.
