Yea maybe i'm wrong but that release is opening the door for the cloners which is kinda pathetic.

Arakon : it boots if you split it to 512k... and I agree its completly useless w/o the config live. Just an idea, but knowing executer the protection is the same on the latest build so a simple hex compare would tell what strings/bytes to patch.

Time to agree with the general feeling of the thread...

WTF is the point?

Without the X3's EEPROM to store settings in, all you have is an X2 with a useless extra menu (if they ever get X3CL loading)

Maybe if they make it run on other 4th gen chips where similar extra hardware is available, this might have a point (as in the owners of those other chips can finally have a proper fully-functional BIOS to boot, rather than booting one to load another)

Have you fools heard of proof on concept.

They have proved they can decomplie the bios and make it boot on a NON X3 modchip

with more time what makes you think they can not get the config crap working?

Blah blah blah, Anyways there was some good pointsd to this bios. It was supposed to be (Remember supposed to...) run on 1.6 so it would offer people a alternative to the ever so shitty M8 bios. Buuuut all the fucking thing does on a 1.6 is crash, Least from what i have seen. So its kinda lame, But the fact that it was supposed to run on a 1.6 and offer aother bios for it, Was great.... Maybe next time.

I think the point of this was to kind of smack Xecuter in the face by making a bios that only works with the X3. I also think this was to make a bios that has better 1.6/b compatibility. Seeing how m8+ and all those other variations are still a little buggy. I think its gay and i hope Xecuter does something and comes out with a X2 bios with 1.6/b compability soon to show these guys up. There is no other point of have the X3 bios if you cant get into configLIVE.

* Reverse and relink the bios settings (to store them into Xenium/Smartxx/Xchip flash rom).

What if these hax0rs could program the OS and BIOS into that 1MB. Then, when the Xbox boots up durring the flubber, holding down the white button would load the OS and all the settings would be stored in a file on the HDD instead of an eeprom...

If the BIOS and OS couldnt fit on the 1MB chip, just load the BIOS on there and have the OS and settings run off the hdd.

Dumb question of the post: Could you emulate the chip off of the HDD?

That's my non-proof of concept.

These guys should be indulging in some herbs as well as drinking mass quantities of alcohol.

I would have to agree with everybody that this is pretty lame. The good news however is that it points out that Xecuter is a desirable BIOS and therefore must be pretty damn good. So why don't these people support them and just buy an X3? They cost about the same as the other 4th gen. chips but are built better with a larger clintel base. O well let's just suffice it to say that this wasn't really "news" and I hope that Team Xecuter shows them up in some way.

not to bash Xecuter but a $60 chip is not much better then a $15 chip for the normal user. Just useless extra's. The bios on the other hand is cool and maybe with some black magic they can store setting's on the hd etc. fuck it anyways they are just useing the same method Xecuter uses for there bios remember they stole there code to.
