I dont know if the x3 bios can use an imbedded eeprom or not, but if it can, then can't you use the xbox's eeprom chip to store the CL settings? (if it has enough space)

Or, like others suggested, have it search for a settings file on the HDD like iND bios.

There are several "fixed" locations on the HDD where X3 config could store its data, in the first 512 kB of the HDD (the "config area", you have to find some unused positions in there) or at the 4 kB superblock at the beginning of every filesystem, of which only the first 18 bytes are used.

in other words, it will only be a few weeks tops till a tool is released to inject an eeprom with your own custom settings however you want them directly into the bios before flashing, thus having the functionality of the x3 but without the convenience of changing settings without reflashing.

the X3 lib unpacker && packer already work on XBOX and pc unpack all X3 1.6 bios .
