my original 20gb HDD froze my xbox at boot and i have a 60gb that i would like to backup my gamesaves to i can get it to detect in xplorer360 and xport360 both are very slow when the 20gb is in and it stops backing up after a few files are transfered would it be better if i had the ms transfer kit?

Crash is right, if the drive can't be read on a desktop or laptop, the drive is shot. I've tried to do what you did for a relative, but I could not recover the drive. Once the spindle or drive head is out of alignment, its done.

But there's the thing I can detect the drive and with xplorer 360 that is usually it but when I try in xport 360 I can detect the drive and see the filesystem but when I try to access specific files or backup the drive it freeze/crashes
