1.6 Bioses? (using Pbl)
« on: December 26, 2004, 12:19:00 PM »

I'm having some issues with the M8 bios that comes with LTOOLS.  It's new enough that LEFT+RIGHT+BLACK+SELECT(BACK) is IGR.  The basic problem is that it plays some but not all backups.

The box in question is a 1.6 version.  My 1.4 box works fine as does a 1.1 box.

What other bios's are out there that I could try?

Probebly not the bios, probebly your Xbox Dvd drive. Try swapping them over see what happens.

The M8 is your only option for a 1.6

Thanks for the info.  That's what I have in there.

Just to be 100% clear.  If I were to chip his xbox, I'd have to load the M8 on that as well right??  So the stuff I'm seeing (top spin wont play.  outlaw golf 2 will only play from the CD) will still happen when the chip is on, right?

The only advantage he'd have with a chipped xbox is that we could keep his C and E drives completely clean so that when we turn the mod chip off, the games will play normally from the retail DVD.

He got this NCAA/Topspin Disk with his xbox.   After we softmodded the box, the disc now brings up a error 21.  I can only guess that the disk either called the MS Dash or it just looks for hacks.   :(  I was able to rip NCAA to his hard drive and that works, but Topspin freezes when it's played from the HDD (only on the 1.6).

Anyway, my father inlaw is a little frustrated with his 1.6 xbox.   I'm kind of wishing he'd bought an old one off ebay.   <_<

I'm having this same problem.
I thought it may be the dash.
I'm going to my friends tomorrow to try a few things.
His box is a 1.6 with an x2.6 and M8 loaded.
The games that freeze on loading are working on mine.
Even booting with the disk in freezes.
I'll try the date and cleaning the cache.
I'll report my findings tomorrow night.
