Disable Auto Launch
« on: October 25, 2004, 03:34:00 PM »

I think this is on the right forum

i dont want the xbox to load to a game at boot

im using a 1.6 xbox with a X3 chip with X3 bios gold and latest evox

im sorta new at this. ive seen other topics on this but this is on older xboxes with diffrent chips with diffrent bios's
considering its a 1.6 im pretty limited

i believe i need some kind of bios tool
but im not sure of which that would do this let alone on the installation of it

i installed config magic  but it dosent know my version of xbox because its the 1.6

or should i just forget this untill it comes as a new feature in a new x3 bios if it ever dose

i may be retarded, but i think you can tell your dashboard not to boot up the dvd drive... but i am unsure. just go play in settings... tehn agian, i'm used to unleashx and it has a "No atuo load dvd" thing, and i dont know if that is at boot or not...

i thought you can edit the bios on the fly?

If you look at your evox.ini file, I believe there is something that says "AutoLaunch" and it's set on "Yes" or something like that. Just change it to "No", ftp it back into your xbox and reboot.  I hope that answers your problem.

that's only when you put the disk in after the xbox is booted, not if you boot xbox with disk in the drive

sugam there will be a feature to change what you want the bootable xbe is on the dvdrom so that it will not auto launch on boot up even if you boot with it in the drive, just hold on for awhile
