Note Hdd Adapter To Xbox 360 - Interested?
« Reply #15 on: February 27, 2009, 12:30:00 AM »

Yes! Need one of these ASAP, my 360 just came back from repair and I can't do anything without a hard drive.

BTW, I'm getting this one from ewiz: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=HD-WD120B...84a2d144b09885a

Ewiz has great prices, I ordered my GTX-260 from them.

Will purchase this for sure... I love things from DIYgadget....

Plan to solder my WD1200BEVS directly to Xbox360 Mobo but don't know how to leave these cables outside for easier disconnecting, I really don't want to cut my Xbox360 beautiful plates....

This is something I want to see. Too bad it's going to cost too much if you ship it to Finland. Let's say it costs 40€ with shipping, and then 50€ for the HDD. That's still pretty much, considering that I can buy about 4 games with that much money as used (of course a lot cheaper than 130€ microsoft HDD, but that comes in nice case).

Will it be possible to just buy a "SATA-to-Xbox" cable, I dont need no fancy case for the HDD (glue ftw). biggrin.gif

I'm pretty sure they're just making the cable and not an entire enclosure. From other posts I've seen (there's a guy that did this by hand using a PCB piece and hot glue) a laptop hard drive will actually fit UNDER the plastic cover that you remove to install the official hard drive. This means you don't even need an enclosure, and it'll have a slimmer profile than a full hard drive.

I'd definitely be interested. I have an 80gb hdd in my laptop that's going bad but I'm sure I could get some more life out of it on my 360 smile.gif

a little update

we are still working on the protortype, but in the meantime, how much more you would pay for a complete hdd enclosure like the one from MS?
for a complete enclosure identical to MS one,  what is your target price excluding shipping?

$20-$25?
$25-$30?
$30-$35?

BTW, we will be stocking next version of connectivity kit, this version has a power on/off button, so modding will be easier!

Stay tuned!

Well, something around 20-30 dollars. A bit more if it looks nice.
