I've had practically the same problem, except with a 120GB. Hooked it up to the computer using the Xecuter HD adapter v2 and opened it with Xplorer360. When I tried to put it back into the console, it says that it isn't detected. I've tried a million things and I just can't get it to be detected. I don't even care if I lose the data but here's one thing. When I open it with hddhackr and try to dump the hddss.bin file from it, it can successfully. And it can write the data to sectors 16-22 (I can do this manually anyway). But it can't flash because, obv, it just says that it's incompatible with the drive and only a WD BEVS will work. Would the problem still be down to this? Because I've got a backup of the drive, and I've tried zeroing and initialising, since that worked for some people, as well as using the raw image of another 120GB Fujitsu Xbox HD (that HD is detected). It still doesn't work, whichever method I use... Any ideas?
I did pretty much the same thing. Brought home a used 120 GB genuine drive from Gamespot, connected it to the 360 to confirm it worked, then I tried following the directions from the Youtube video about upgrading and the IVC wiki as well. Something was wrong with xplorer360 though, cause it kept giving me some error when I tried to copy data from partition 3 on my 20 GB drive, so I foolishly did Backup Image, and then put the 120 in and Restore Image. Now the drive is unreadable by the Xbox!!! I tried some of the other stuff on the wiki (winhex editing), but it still doesn't work.
With xplorer360 I was able to get partition2 to copy over, but no 3, and it still isn't seen by the Xbox. HELP!
