« Reply #75 on: July 02, 2009, 08:47:00 PM »

hey guys just have a quick question here i'm just trying to figure out if its my setup or my drive

i know in the readme for the  OLDER versions  of hddhackr says it only supports WD1200BEVS - LAT and RST versions

mine is WD1200BEVS-26VAT0 so i guess that means its a "VAT" sub series? or however you want to categorize it

this SHOULD be covered in hddhackr 1.00 and up correct? seems like its suppose to cover ALL the bevs. i'm just having some freezing issues, shows drive info then nothing and i'm gonna try some diff setups diff sata cards ect but don't want to waste my time if its not even supported

thanx for any input

I nabbed a SATA WD BEVS from newegg.

Ive tried my laptop and 4 desktops. Ive used HDDHACKR 91-1.11 to no avail.

Laptop is a Gateway which didnt do anything

Two desktops @ work (assorted Dells) have come up fruitless.

desktop #1 has a nv4 chip, which I hexedited for as well. It either locks up looking fo the drive. Using The  1.11 ends with a "Reading HDD Sector 16 failed!"

Anyone have an idea how to get this one up & running?

My next idea is to find a VIA-chip SATA card (which I dont really need) to do the trick.

Thanks for any input!

Hey all,  I am relatively a n00b to the xbox scene,  just bought a RROD unit, fixed it with the hybrid xclam mod and now looking at putting a hard drive in it as it didnt coime with one,  already bought the shell and now looking at my options.  Has anyone ever attempted to put a non WD drive in the unit when doing the upgrade?  I have a 60gb Seagate and a 200gb Toshiba unit and was wondering if there would be a way to get either one of the units installed into the xbox360?  I searched the net and have looked over the guides,  found a 60gb & 120 & 250 hddss.bin file (250 was off a torrent, the others off of a website) and was just curious if anyone could perhaps tell me if either of my 2 drives will work?

OR

Could I put eiter of the 2 drives into an external USB enclosure and use the drive that way too if the replacement method doesnt work?

Thanks!  Hope i dont annoy anyone with me posting these couple questions in this thread.

Sorry if this has been done to death, but I was wondering if there is any more info on microsoft making 3rd party storage units non functional on a 360.  last I remember they announced this several months ago and non one was sure if hddhacker 120gb drives were still going to work or not.

Has this disabling feature been implemented, did it disable the hddhackr drives?

any info. on when this is going to happen?
