Straight Answer For Sata Pcmcia Card
« on: November 15, 2007, 08:57:00 PM »

Well I looked and looked and searched.  There still wasn't quite a straight answer for this question throughout the forum.  So I tookj it upon myself to just order the freakin card and trouble shoot it for those who want a straight answer.  I have a laptop and PCs' but it would make more sense to use the "Book" to flash.  This would save you some time from opening up your CPU case all the time.  Well I did order the 2 Port CardBus to Serial ATA SATA PCMCIA Card w/Cable from "Monoprice".  I really believe that it will work for others have used adapters with success.  This card should work and the price was awsome with shipping included.  I will report back with all the details as soon as possible. I ordered the card on the 15th Of Nov 07.

Wish me luck....or us luck!

Please do. I have been trying to figure out what I can do for my BenQ without a working PC. So the laptop would be ideal if it would work. Can't wait to find out! BTW,  other than the Sata card, do you know of any other requirements the laptop would need? It has Vista 32bit.

Yahooooooo!  I've done it and it works pefect!  I managed to get my Hitachi 59 flashed with my laptop using a PCMCIA Sata card.  Now I don't have to crack open my CPU anymore to flash.  I popped that baby in and executed everything from "textbook's" tut and voila!
