I've been looking around for a few days to see if anyone has come up with a way to get a USB drive formatted with NTFS working on the 360. So far it looks like the kernel doesn't support it.
The next thought was whether or not you could format an external USB HD with the big-endian FATX version that's running on the 360's HD.
I know there is a tool that will allow you "clone" a 20GB Hitachi HD to replace your original, but so far I've not seen any tools that will simply let you format a drive in the native 360 format and read/write to it under XP/Vista.
My main reason for this is the 4GB file limit under FAT32. I have some video files that are larger than 4GB I'd like to put on an external HD and carry with me when I travel.
Seeing how MS, through Live, will let you pull down full length movies in HD, which have to be larger than 4GB, I would assime the FATX on the 360 HD supports large files.
Anyone have any info on this they could share?
