This was just a temporary pin because I knew this would be a hot topic.  Unpinning now.

As soon as I hot swap and rescue my modchip, I'll try out 4978.2 on my X2 lite

Because it's 512K, there's very little risk involved.  You only have to flash one bank.  You can safely leave 4977 on the other one.

wink.gif

1: Flashed X2 Lite 2.1 - Successful
2: First Boot while holding A for FTP Access - Successful
3: Normal boot - Not so successful

Seems to hang at "Xecuter2" "X" animation.

Anyone else had luck.......?

I think 4978 may just be a bad luck release, I would say ditch it and continue with 4979  smile.gif

maybe a 512kb bios is still taking too much memory needed for a game to run properly...

Why bother filling bioses with crap that can be loaded from the hard drive?

I think its a method by which someone can "justify" us leaving our cheapmods?

Please leave this garbage out of bioses, stick to the real stuff like features etc..  for that you probably will only ever need a 256k bios...

Lutz

Nobody is forcing you to use this bios. If you don't like it, then you got 4 choices.

(1.) Make your own bios.

(2.) Use X2 4976.02 or 4977.

(3.) Use the Evox bios.

(4.) STFU and stop whining.

Seems to be a bug in the IGR.. if you disable it (copy the disable-file to E:) all games work. I am sure they are fixing this problem right in this moment.

Cheers,

Unfortunately there was a bug in the IGR code found in build 4978.02, leading to non-booting games.
We fixed this now in build 4978.03 so finally please enjoy a fully working x2 4978 bios.

Changes 4978.2->4978.3:
- Fixed IGR function which made 4978.2 hang on game startup
- Tested on pro & lite with evoX and a couple of games
- Maybe drink less coffee next time before releasing :-p

I just cant live without IGR...
