Call me a bitch or jackass again, but if any BIOS updates are required for future releases Team Xecuter will not really release 512 kb BIOS or 256 anymore or what? Sure we can we use 4977, we are not so stupid! But a small update between 256 and 512 kbyte could also be nice since not everyone are dependent on embedded XBEs. Sure, it´s the decision of the team, but I think it is silly whatever you say.

and you obviousley don't read

*sigh*

What is to prevent you from using 4978, or 4979, or 4980 with Phoenix Loader?

Some of you mongs are really beginning to piss me off and you are showing yourself up for the retards you really are so please stop highlighting your  ignorance and incompetences on these forums.

If you were to take the time to READ a few threads and posts before jumping the gun and acting the big know alls then you would all have read its an Alpha release .

I too have an x2 lite but i didnt flash my chip , why you ask ? Simple Im not a mong and always read up , wait for feedback on new releases then and only then do I decide to flash my chip. Before I even flashed my chip for the first I waited for the release of the lite programmer so that should something go wrong I had a recovery method.  Why havent others done the same ? Once again the words retards and mongs come to mind.

Im sorry to flame but Ive been reading shit here for two days now and have been biting my tongue but after seeing it continue in other threads like this my blood has just boiled over.

Team xecuter are humans too and also make mistakes but the way some of the idiots are going on here the last two days youd think
that they have intentionally tried to destroy peoples chips which certainly couldnt be further from the truth.

Also  info to the idiots ,A bad flash can be very easily corrected so quit the ruined chip accusations.

I admire Ubergeek`s patience hes shown here over the last couple of days and would advise to not invest any more time on the wasters . Im looking forward to a new release in a smaller sized version so I hope you can work that one out if at all possible.

Very good point(s) 4me2, On the other hand I did make the mistake so many others did and saw a new BIOS and thought, "Oh boy something new." And I am sitting with a fragged box, but I am not freaking out. This is the chance we take by modding, or in my case, impatience. I should have waited to see how others updates turned out, but I didnt and I must face the consiquences of what I did. I am waiting on my programmer so I can resolve my issue. Next time I will be a little more patient before I jump the gun....I am just happy that this can be resolved and will only cost me $15 to fix instead of buying a new xbox hehe.  wink.gif

You'll all be pleased to know that a fix has been posted as news on the main xbox-scene site.

personally i dont really give a poo if lots of new big bioses come out. I only upgrade mine if my current doesnt do something i need it to. I recommend you all do the same.

I've got phoenix lying about just in case something indispensable turns up, but dont forget, if you use live any changes to c drive, even a weeny i meg bios is not a good idea. Im not quite sure what i read about MS checking hdd sizes, but im sure someone will let me know.

The news that Team executor are planning to try to shrink the code is good news for x2 users... keep one bank with a known good bios, use the other for new alphas/phoenix. sorted.

retards and mongs? Poeple bashing like you are retarded. When i read about alpha releases, i think of problems with containing new code, like the ftp thingy and so on. But i would never guess, that i won' t be able to boot my box anymore! Btw, in the future i will also wait for feedback about a new release. Like Team Executer, we retarded mongs are also only humans and learn about our mistakes, at least me... ;-)

So on, have a nice weekend.
My hero!

P.S. The cd-eject fix works like a charm. :-)

with an older x2 bios,  stick pheonix bios loader in /C/ and name it neXgen.xbe, and rename evoxdash to avadash.xbe then stick in x2 4978 BFM as xboxrom.bin and reboot, wahla, instant x2 4978

i'm still wondering who want's an ftp server in the bios???

QUOTE

For those who think an embedded FTP server is pointless, here's why it isn't:
1) For people who dont have a cd burner
2) For those who have difficulty in burning a CD
3) For those who mess up their dash somehow and cannot get back into the box

1) not manny. and how did they install evox..? everyone has acces to a cd burner
2) if you can figure out how to change your network settings to something compatible with the wicked subnet 4978 is using, you can definitly burn a cd.
3) hello? boot evox from cd/dvd??

so there's no need for this bios. hope they will add something usefull in the future... maybe a menu to configure the bios on the fly? biggrin.gif

"if you wanna complain - make sure you have made something better yourself"

They dont need a reason to add a ftpserver, all they need - is to want to make one.  Who's to decide what they are gonna do with their sparetime =)

In the .nfo, they say that soon the bios will be 512k and will work on x2 lites.

My presumption is that they're either going to be coding the FTPd from scratch to make it smaller or streamlining the code already in miniFTPd.xbe.  I'd assume it would be easy getting it into 512K since the current FTPd pushed the BIOS size just past 512K.

How nice is the MXM code?? i think it is small and sweet.. maybe that would be better choice than screwing with the miniFTPd.xbe code.. and i think bj would be happy to help..

*sigh*

1) the idea behind this is that you use to install evox...
2) or you can be like myself, and can connect to the ftpd in the bios just fine without hex editing it
3) hello? read? you dont need this

We go through this every time a bios is released.  Not everyone will use feature of the bios.  But the thing is, its there if you want.  Maybe to YOU this feature is pointless, but dont say that it is a pointless feature in general.  And again, if you dont want to use it, DON'T, no need to bitch about what you wont use.
When dvd2xbox added DVD video support, do people bitch about it, saying that they wont use, and that the release is pointless?  No, they just _dont use it_.  When a new version of xbtool was released to allow you to change the LED color, did people bitch about a 'useless feature'.  No, of course not.  I could go on about this for a dozen apps that I use, where I dont use a certain feature.  It doesnt make the app pointless.
So if you want to bitch about this, please be sure to bitch about every feature in every app that you dont use.  Maybe they should take that out, and talor the app to your needs and desires.  Or maybe you could just take what is given to you, use it if you want, and if not SHUT UP.
