Mode B , 47dj ,via Vt6421

I'm pretty sure that error has to do with that via chipset.  I too have a pci VT6421 RAID card that I use to flash ms28's.  Tonight I thought, what the hell, i'll see if I can do all my flashing off the via card instead of swapping back and forth between my onboard and the pci explansion card, and ended up with this error as well.  With that same drive, i placed it onto my motherboard's sata connections and viola! it worked like a charm going into mode b and flashed sucessfully.  I noticed I only get this error when the cdrom drive is placed into mode b.  The computer will boot fine when i leave the drive in normal mode.  So from that same conclusion, I imagine you are getting the drive into mode b correctly, it's just the VT6421 has issues with hitachi's.  If anyone else has a similar setup, please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.  Hope this helps!

I'm having the same problem with my via chipset.  That really sucks if that's the case.  Anyone know of any good PCI sata cards that will work to flash a v78 hitachi?
