this is the one i bought. I cannot for the life of me get to detect a drive in windows or in DOS. the drivers are installed properly. I would avoid it. It's extremely cheapy.
Actually this one worked fine for me, it took me a while too get the card too become recognized by mtkflash however i havnt got windows too see the drive yet,
heres what i did (if i remeber it all correctly)
1. Install the drivers from the disc supplied ( in the folder vt6421 i think)
2. Restart the pc
3. run msinfo32 and locate the card under (components --> Storage --> SCSI)
4. Make sure the status of the device is OK!
5. Note down the dev id and I/O port (follow the other guides on doing this)
6. Download and install the 5.3c drivers viaarena (link is on here somewhere), restart again
7. Manually mod mtkflash with your dev id (Dont use any auto patchers etc they didn't seem to work for me)
8. Make a boot disc and place the newly modded mtkflash onto it
9. Connect up the xbox dvd drive with the sata control, NOTE: use the port internal on the right (just below the IDE port), DONT TURN THE XBOX ON YET!
10. Shut down your pc and disconnect all other devices (except floppy and hd)
11. reboot your computer with your boot disk in
12. type "mtkflash r /m orig.bin", turn on the xbox and instantly press enter
13. Mtkflash should start too read the firmware
14. Re-connect all devices and shut the xbox down
At this point you can simply backup your firmware patch the hacked firmware with your id etc and simply repeat stags 9 - 14
if mtkflash doesnt recognise the card, remove all the drivers and the card and reinstall, it will work eventually
