Ms 709 Mb Sata Question
« on: August 15, 2006, 04:53:00 PM »

hi trying to flash a hitachi 47dj, but dunno what sata chipset i have onboard, under device/scsi controller it says
name vax347s scsi contoller
manufacture: (standard mass storage)
status ok
pnp device id: pci\vax3475\0000

the board i got is a microstar msi 709 ver 10
its a intel 915g (grantsdale) chipset  according to sis sandra
the only chips i see on the board are just above the sata ports is msi chip ms -74***** its a qfp and writing is to small to read
and over at the pci slots is a via vt 6105l chip

ive tryed the slax method had  to eject the drive to get it to boot past the pentium screen, then reset it and couldnt find drive in windows, even when populating, ok slax ran 3 times as i forgot to take disc out,and windows crashed so reset it , dunno if that makes any diff. if anyone can tell if the chipset will work much appreciated cant find any info on that board
