Via 6421 And Samsung Autoflasher V1 Help!

I just got my VIA 6421 pci sata card in the mail and I installed it in my pc and updated to the newest drivers. I downloaded the samsung autoFlasher v1 put it on a usb. I also bought the 360 connectivity kit and I hooked that up to the samsung drive and then hooked up the drive to the sata card. Now when I boot into dos through the usb key and I the VIA chipset option, it says that it cannot detect the device. What exactly am I doing wrong, was there something I forgot to do?
