Sorry cant understand what your trying to do.

are you trying to flash the firmware ?
backup a game ?

hi , thanks for your reply

im trying to flash the firmware of my samsung 360 dvd drive ,

i hook the xbox360 drive upto the pc via a sata cable , remove all ide cables

power on the xbox , then power on my pc but it freezes at the bios loading screen

but if i have the xbox off it will boot to the dos prompt , i can the power on the xbox and if i type

c:>mtkflash r /m orig.bin nothing happens it just comes up with the c:> prompt

any help would be really appreciated

im assuming that you have the mtkflash.exe file that came with the hacked firmware on the root of your c drive
and that the c drive is formated as fat32
type the command dir at c:>
and make sure that you can see the mtkflash file

hi , yes i can see mtkflash in my c drive ,

my pc does not have a floppy drive so i have used a usb memory stick ( c drive )

i formatted this using the hp boot utility , then replaced the files with all the necessary files ( i downloaded a package off a torrent site )

i can see all the files in the directory but when i type c:>mtkflash r /m orig.bin it just returns to the c:\ prompt no message

The problem is SIMPLE. DO NOT POWER YOUR 360 BEFORE YOU POWER YOUR PC. Let your Bios post and get to the DOS prompt...ONLY THEN should you power the 360.

thanks for your reply , but the problem is not that simple

if i power the xbox on after the pc has booted to dos and type c:>mtkflash r /m orig.bin it does nothing other than going to the prompt c:\ nothing else happens

No I'm sorry to say it doesnt. What MTKFlash are you using and what PC chipset do you have...

The reason why it aint working is because you are typing the wrong command.
you dont type c:>mtkflash r /m orig.bin
you just type: mtkflash r /m orig.bin
when you can see the command prompt

Guys i have sorted it , thanks for your help

sharky you hit the nail on the head mate , it was a typing error on my behalf , just type in mtkflash r /m orig.bin at the c prompt and away she went , edited the firmware with my dvd key and reflashed in just a couple of minutes , tested and works 100%
