Usb Sata - Which One ?

sorry man i dont think theres any way you can flash it with a usb since its not enabled in dos theres ways to get it to work but its a hassle i really cant help you but im telling you what i know sorry

Thanks for your reply.

I have an old PC I can use and put a PCI SATA card in. There have been confirmed reports that certain cards ARE working.

Can any one give the name of such a card that is available for purchase in the UK ?

Heres a list of a few from a flashing tutorial...

PCI SATA:

VIA VT 8237 WORKS
VIA VT 6421L WORKS (with edited mtkflash)
Nforce 410 chipset (mcp51) WORKS (with edited mtkflash)
Download Nforce 410 Edited MTKFLASH  (Thanks Grim187, elitedev & will5)
Sil3112 Chipset  Does not work
Sil3114  Does not work
Sil3512 (CompUsa)  Does not work
Maxtor SATA card w Promise chipset (free with hard drives) Does not work

To me though, that looks like a list of mobos, not cards.
maybe its a list of mobos that are flash compatable when a card is installed?

no idea, i am also looking for a compatable card is anyone can help

they're not mobos or cards; they're chipsets.  whatever mobo/card you have look for a chip with that brand/make written on it

any usb to sata adapter will work... but only with hitachi drives. read these for more info:

edit: i could be wrong on this... but i dont think i am. i'll read some more and get back to ya. (ive only read of one person flashing a samsung with a usb adapter and many with hitachis but who knows)
