Its not going to happen anytime soon.If you have a xbox 360 dev kit or debug unit you can simply add a larger hdd with the xbox 360 recovery disc.I know the hdd that come with it are 40 to 60 gigs,its not enough room for developers to works with so thats why they have that option.

You can already use a external HDD on the usb 2.0 ports, but you can't download
anything to it from the 360 system, as the USB 2.0 ports on the 360 system are
READ-ONLY. No write access allowed.

You know, it's nice to have ambition, and I respect that. There's a difference, though, between ambition and common sense. Currently, a bigger, user-installed hard drive is about as realistic as a gamecube emulator for the original xbox. In other words, it's not going to happen, at least not anytime soon.

if we are saying that the information is in the firmware then norton ghost would be of no use. norton ghost does a bit by bit copy of the harddrive disks i thought and therefore couldn't be used. correct me if i'm wrong and i skipped the last 3 or 4 posts.

edit: this is me saying why some of the above people saying this happened are full of bs btw.
