Hitachi-lg Drive Problem
« on: September 04, 2009, 03:02:00 PM »

from the way the tray looks and the name on the dvd drive case, im supposed to have a hitachi-lg drive. when i opened the case to solder an nme mod chip into the drive, the name on one of the chips said panasonic and the area where i was supposed to solder had some sort of computer glue on it. anyone know what i can do to solder the mod chip into it or if i can flash it with ixtreme? if i can flash it with xtreme, what dvd drive type would i get the firmware for?

WHOA...Holy shit STOP!!!

You dont need a modchip for ANY xbox drive out.

Read the top of the drive, what revision hitachi GDR-3120l do you have?

All drives out right now can be flashed. I just wanted to make clear that you SHOULD NOT solder a chip in as its not needed. IXtreme 1.51 can be flashed to your Hitachi drive using JungleFlasher.

There is a link to download JungleFlasher in my sig below and there's also a link to the PDF guide which tells you exactly how to use it.
Tip: After you open the guide click the bookmark tab on the left to make it easier to navigate straight to the Hitachi section.
