I sold this banned XBOX 360 to a friend back in the day when it was banned in the first ban wave... he didn't want XBOX live. Well he can't play any of the newer games because of wave 3, protection, ect...

I was wondering what would be the best FW to flash to keep me from having to update later... iXtreme is pointless if it is banned... no need for disc checks or anything...

Will an old version of Xtreme FW work? If so, which one to choose to support all newer games?

yes a old Xtreme will work a treat.I would pick the last one released but all should work.
Some had a few odd bugs if i remember right (GTA4) not sure which ones.But they boot
anything.

Would GaryOPA Xtreme Hitachi-LG Firmware v1.2 be the latest firmware for Hitachis?

I thought there was an Xtreme 5.3 or something, but I can't seem to find if this supports Hitachi drives.

5.3 is for samsung only.

2.4 is the latest xtreme Hitachi fw.

You might want to use iX 1.51, this also has media checks removed so won't need updating in the future.

I believe you are mistaken, unless 1.51 had them removed and then verified Wave X... ?

All versions of "stealth" firmware should have media checks I would think...
